1) Data We Collect

We collect information you provide or generate when using BestieMe:

• Account info – name, email, profile details, country, birthday, gender.
• Content & activity – posts, comments, photos/videos, group info, likes, reports.
• Messaging data – direct and group messages (text and media). See Private Chats.
• Device & technical – IP address, device/browser type, timestamps, basic diagnostics.

2) How We Use Data

• Provide and improve features (friends, groups, messaging, media, marketplace listings).
• Keep the platform safe: detect spam, scams, and policy violations.
• Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, or account notices.
• Comply with applicable laws and enforce our Terms and community standards.

3) BestStore Marketplace

Important BestieMe is not a party to transactions made through BestStore. We do not handle payments, shipping, or dispute resolution between buyers and sellers.

• At your own risk: You are solely responsible for any purchase or sale you choose to complete.
• No liability: We are not responsible for losses, damages, or scams you may experience.
• Report fraud: If you submit evidence that a seller acted fraudulently, we will review and may permanently suspend that account. However, any loss or damage remains your responsibility.

4) Prohibited Content

To protect our community and comply with platform requirements (including Google AdSense, Google Firebase standards, and general SEO content quality standards), the following are prohibited:

• Sexual/explicit content or exploitation.
• Copyright-infringing or pirated content (including unauthorized sharing of movies/music/software).
• Illegal content or activity, threats, harassment, hate speech, or violent extremism.
• Spam, misleading promotions, impersonation, or attempts to defraud other users.

Violations may lead to content removal, account restrictions, suspension, or a permanent ban after review.

5) When We Share Data

• We do not sell or casually share your personal data with third parties.
• Legal requests: If required by law, court order, or a valid government/law-enforcement request, we may disclose necessary information.
• Safety & abuse: We may use data to investigate and act on policy violations, security incidents, or fraud.

6) Private Chats & Access

• No routine monitoring: We do not routinely read your private chats.
• Limited access: In specific cases (e.g., serious policy violations or legal necessity), the site owner may access required chat records via Firebase Console to investigate.
• Disclosure to authorities: In legal circumstances, specific chats may be provided to a court or law enforcement.
• Access logs: We do not yet maintain a per-message access log, but we plan to add access-logging in the future.

7) Security & Storage

BestieMe uses Google Firebase services to store data such as accounts, messages, media, and listings. We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

8) Your Choices & Rights

• Access & edit: You can view and update profile information within the app.
• Delete: You can request deletion of specific content you posted; account deletion may be requested through the Help Center.
• Report: Use the Help Center to report bugs, copyright issues, sexual/legal violations, or suspected fraud.
• Notifications & emails: You can manage app notifications via your device/app settings.

9) Cookies & Ads

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and improve functionality. The site may display ads (including Google AdSense). Ad networks may use cookies or device identifiers to deliver and measure ads per their policies. You can adjust browser settings to manage cookies; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.

10) Children’s Privacy

BestieMe is not intended for children under the age where parental consent is required by local law. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us via the Help Center, and we will take appropriate action.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services or legal requirements. If changes are significant, we will provide reasonable notice in-app or by email.
